What are the Consequences of Slow Turnaround Times?

Elvin Montanez, PharmD, chief operations officer at BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, discusses the negative impact of a slow turnaround on patient care.

Montanez: We know that when the turnaround is slow, you start to lose patient engagement. The prescriber has moved on and they’re treating other patients. So, the information they have on that particular patient is moving further and further away from the prescriber at that point. Time is wasted, which often has negative ramifications for that patient’s healthcare. Speed to service is very critical.
