What Are the Benefits of Streamlining Specialty Pharmacy Care?

Rinku Patel, PharmD, RPh, CEO and founder of KloudScript, discusses why streamlining specialty pharmacy care is important.

Patel: It’s important to streamline specialty pharmacy care because now there are many dynamics that allow patient access as well as help that they need to obtain product correctly and use it correctly.

There are financial services that are required to get patients on therapy and then there are clinical services required that are needed to keep the patient on therapy and getting them to use their drug properly for the benefit of all stakeholders in the industry.

Without a specialty pharmacy streamlining all aspects of that patient’s care—including financial case management services and clinical care—it would be very, very difficult for that patient to not only get access but to stay and use their drug properly.

It is very important for the pharmacy to address all areas of specialty pharmacy care and streamline their services so that patients could benefit from their specialty medication.
