The Dr. Oz Show explores how patients can make better use of pharmacists as a source of health and medication information.

A recent episode of the Dr. Oz Show highlighted the role of pharmacists as easily accessible sources of health and medication information. Dr. Oz and a patient first visited a Walgreens pharmacy where Stacia Woodcock, PharmD, explained that pharmacists can help patients choose the right OTC medication for their symptoms as well as demonstrate the proper use of home medical equipment. Then Dr. Woodcock appeared as a guest on the show and discussed questions that patients should ask their pharmacist regarding how a given medication can help them; potential interactions with other medications, vitamins, or foods; and how to manage potential medication side effects.
