Survey Shows Pharmacy Teams Continue to Be Stretched Thin During Pandemic

Pharmacy Times interviewed Mitchel Rothholz, RPh, MBA, chief of governance and state affiliates at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and executive director of the APhA Foundation, on the results of a nationwide survey of pharmacists that showed pharmacy teams are feeling stretched thin while continuing to protect their communities from COVID-19.

During the interview, Rothholz discussed what the survey results showed regarding the overall impact of COVID-19 on pharmacy operations and staffing, what the result of industry-wide exhaustion and burnout may be on the field, what can be done to help manage pharmacy workforce exhaustion and burnout, what APhA’s plans are for the new year to support the pharmacy workforce, and his predictions for the pharmacy field during the ongoing fight against the pandemic.
