How Can Pharmacies Prepare for Value-Based Health Systems?

In this clip, Crystal Lennartz, PharmD, MBA, Chief Pharmacist at Health Mart, discusses what steps pharmacies can take to prepare for value-based health systems.

At the Pharmacy Quality Alliance annual meeting held in Baltimore, Maryland, Crystal Lennartz, PharmD, MBA, Chief Pharmacist at Health Mart, spoke about what pharmacies can do if they're just getting started with a value-based health system.

Transcript:

So when a pharmacy is just getting started with a value-based arrangement, or a pay-for-performance arrangement, I think the most important thing is to first understand how they’re being measured, how they’re currently performing, and what they can do to impact their performance. And then engagement, both with the patient and patients that can be impacted through behavioral coaching, and also engagement with tools that help them change processes and the way that they care for patients, like medication synchronization.
