Medical cannabis has been a hot topic in the state of Colorado, where this week, hundreds of pharmacy professionals have gathered for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores-Total Store Expo (NACDS-TSE) 2018. Transcript: Ned Milenkovich: Since we're in Colorado, we thought it would be appropriate to talk about medicinal marijuana. Medicinal marijuana can be found in several states. You can also find recreational marijuana, but medicinal marijuana is specifically used for healing purposes. The definition of medicinal is something that has healing purposes, and it should be distinguished from hemp, for example. Where as both come from cannibis sativa, marijuana has anywhere from 15-30% THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, while hemp has less than .03% and can be made THC free when used for medicinal purposes. The word of the day today is medicinal.
