Laura Cranston, RpH: The quality landscape in measurement is changing, particularly for PQA. The “medication use” quality measures that we’ve developed over the past 10 or 12 years have been mostly claims based measures. But as our work continues to evolve, our measures are outcome-based measures, our measures are quality-improvement measures, and also monitoring measures. And, additionally, they’re no longer based on just claims, but we have the ability to take in data from EHRs, we have the ability to take in data from other sources, including medical diagnosis so our measures can be more sophisticated.
