Community Pharmacists Can Identify, Help Patients Tackle Misinformation

In an interview with Pharmacy Times, Anjanette Wyatt, PharmD, said pharmacists can play a major role in helping patients distinguish trustworthy facts from misinformation. Wyatt discussed the topic in her presentation at the National Community Pharmacists Association 2021 Annual Convention, titled "The Cure to Misinformation: Empowering Your Patients With Knowledge."

In the interview, Wyatt reviewed several ways that pharmacists can identify patients who may have lower levels of health literacy. She added that pharmacists may be able to reach community members and urge them to get vaccinated by getting involved in churches, especially among communities of color.
